Skip hire without a driveway in Hamilton.

Clearing a terraced house or a flat with shared access? Plan the route from your door or back garden to the skip before delivery.

Blue skip beside sandstone terraced homes with a clear shared passage and pavement
  • Plan the carrying route

Work out how you’ll carry waste from a rear yard or garden to the skip. Keep the route short and clear.

  • Keep shared access open

Leave neighbours’ paths, bin stores and entrances usable. Get permission before using shared or privately owned space.

  • Check the lorry’s approach

Tell us about narrow streets, parked cars and tight turns before choosing the drop-off point.

Need road space for your skip?

An empty parking bay is not permission for a skip. Road placement in Hamilton needs approval from South Lanarkshire Council.

  • Allow time for the permit

The council lists 14 days’ notice for a skip permit. Build this into your plans before setting a delivery date.

  • Check the parking restrictions

Tell us about marked bays, yellow lines and parking signs so any extra permissions can be checked with the council.

  • Confirm the permit and dates

Confirm who is arranging the permit and agree the delivery and collection dates before the skip arrives.

A few questions
before you call?

Clear answers to the things customers ask us most.

Which skip size do I need?

A 4-yard skip suits smaller clear-outs. An 8-yard skip gives more room for renovation waste. The 14 and 20-yard options suit larger or bulkier loads. Tell us what you’re clearing so we can match the skip to the waste and delivery space.

What does the skip hire price include?

Our standard quote includes delivery, seven days’ hire, collection and waste disposal. Your size, waste, address and hire period affect the price. Any permit, extra hire time or special items should be agreed before booking.

Can a skip go on the road in Hamilton?

A skip on a public road needs permission from the roads authority. South Lanarkshire Council lists a skip permit for this purpose. Tell us if you cannot keep the skip on private land so the permit and any parking restrictions can be checked. Read the council’s permit guidance.

What cannot go in a general waste skip?

Do not put asbestos, batteries, gas cylinders, liquid paint, chemicals or electrical items in a general waste skip. Tell us about mattresses, upholstered seating, tyres, plasterboard and heavy waste before booking; they may need a separate arrangement. See our waste guidance.

How do I arrange collection?

Call when the skip is ready. We’ll agree collection around the schedule. Keep the lorry’s access clear and the waste below the skip’s fill line. If you need longer or want a skip exchange, arrange it before your hire ends.

Ready to clear some space?

Tell us what you’re clearing, your postcode and when you need the skip. We’ll help with the size and give you a quote.
